Noriko Laudenslager- PIANO, VOCALS

Noriko Laudenslager was born in Hayama, Kanagawa, Japan.

At age 4, she started to learn piano. She loved music and immersed herself in every facet of the art; music leader, and piano accompanist. At 22 years old, Noriko studied Jazz Vocal in Tokyo, and experienced the excitement and challenge of singing professionally at several venues in the fast paced world of entertainment.

Noriko followed her dream and came to Los Angeles to study Jazz. Her love and passion for piano conquered her heart, and took it in the direction of studying at the university level with  Dr. Peter Green.

Upon entering California State University Northridge under the guidance and mentorship of Professor Francoise Regnat, Noriko earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance.

Noriko currently resides in Irvine, CA, and through the care and nurturing of each student, California Sound Music Academy has earned the reputation of quality in the Orange County community. Her talent, passion, and excitement for students of all ages and experience, fosters an environment of a  life long love for music.

Through a continuous approach to learning and developing skills and appreciation for the arts, Noriko has been an involved member of The Music Teacher's Association. Many of her students are currently practicing and readying themselves for the CM exams.

Heidi Jung - PIANO

Heidi has studied Music Composition at the University level in Seoul, Korea.  She has been teaching piano for over 20 years and was also a Conductor of adult and children choirs.  In addition to teaching, Heidi was an accompanist for many years.

Heidi has taught pre-school for 12 years and enjoys the wonder of children and enjoys sharing her passion for music with them.

Heidi believes teaching piano is one of the purest ways to share music and interact with others.  She loves most all music and composers, and performers, but the classical connection to Beethoven, Brahms and Tchaikovsky is closest to her heart.

Emi Inaba- PIANO

Emi is a versatile pianist and composer/arranger with 7 years of teaching experience in all styles of music, including classical, contemporary, jazz, pop/rock etc. Emi has won numerous national piano competitions and prestigious awards both in her native Japan and U.S. and has performed internationally at world well-known venues such as Royal Albert Hall in London, UK, Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall in NYC. 

Emi graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a full scholarship. She received the Berklee's prestigious Carla Bley Award for her Jazz Orchestra and the Emmanuel Zambelli Award for the classical piano performance. Emi received her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Societal Change from Soka University of America. Through her Master's program, she studied diverse educational pedagogies of music education and conducted a research on the role of music and music education in peacebuilding.


From the time she first heard the violin, Laura knew that it was the instrument she wanted to play.  This dream became a reality through the 4th grade public school strings program in Livermore, California where Laura grew up.  While there, she was presented with many musical opportunities, including teaching violin lessons, playing with the Livermore Amador Symphony, participating in several honors music festivals, and performing in the pit for the Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre from 2007 to 2011.

In August 2011, Laura made her big move away from the quiet town of Livermore to the bustling Southern California area to study music at Chapman University under the instruction of William Fitzpatrick and Robert Becker. In May of 2015 Laura received her Bachelors of Arts in Music with a minor in Integrated Educational Studies from Chapman University. 

Currently, she enjoys teaching violin, viola, and piano lessons, and performing seasonally in Disney’s California Adventure.

Priscilla Peraza- VIOLIN, VIOLA, PIANO

Priscilla has been playing the violin and viola for 11 years but also loves to play lots of other instruments as well, especially piano. She has learned through her experiences to love everything about music. She embraces the firm belief that all music students should receive an all-encompassing and comprehensive musical understanding.

Priscilla took her passion for teaching to Chapman University where she received her Bachelor's in Music Education. Recently, she received her Masters in Education and California Teaching Credential from UCI where she studied and researched teaching pedagogy. Priscilla strives to become a life-long learner. 

Though she is passionate about music education, she is also very interested in music history, ethnomusicology, and performing modern music. Her favorite composers are J.S. Bach, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Pēteris Vasks. Though it’s hard to think about anything else but music, she also enjoys hiking where she is half way through ascending the 6 highest peaks in Southern California. Any other day, she likes enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Linda Fuller - PIANO

Linda, an Indiana native,  moved to California in 1996.  At age 8, she began private piano lessons, and at 11, became the Church Pianist.

She attended Indiana State University with a music and academic scholarship and a recipient of a music scholarship from Tri Kappa.
Linda graduated with Music Theory & Composition, and Music Merchandising degree with an emphasis in Piano Performance.

She published a pamphlet on “How to Keep Children in Music Lessons”. After graduation, she worked as a Graduate Assistant.
Over her career, Linda has worked all over the country as a solo performer, accompanist, studio musician, arranger, transcriber, composer, transposer, and teacher.

Her philosophy on teaching piano encompasses a diverse approach; attention to technique, music theory, sight reading skills, and ear training.  In her words “I feel it is ever-so-important to involve students in performance opportunities whenever and wherever possible outside of lessons. This is what kept me in piano lessons.  I was always performing for something. This gave me a purpose and reward for all of my hard work.”

Linda is a classically trained Pianist, but focuses on introducing multiple genre’s of music to provide a well rounded, and well balanced music teaching experience.


Jon was introduced to the classical guitar by his father at the age of 8 having lived three years in Madrid, Spain with his family.

At 14 he entered the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he met his life-long mentor Jonathan Marcus and was subsequently introduced to the world-renowned guitarists Pepe and Celin Romero.

Jon continued his studies with the Romeros, graduating with both his Bachelor and Master of Arts Degrees from the University of California San Diego in 1991.

He has traveled to Algeria, Spain, Puerto Rico, Panama, Mexico and throughout the United States where he has performed both as a soloist as well as in various ensemble groups spanning four decades.

He has taught students of all ages and conducted master classes at the collegiate level. He currently teaches privately from his studio in Tustin, CA and is an active member of the Orange County Guitar Circle and the North American
Composers USA (NACUSA).

Matthew Heath - GUITAR, PIANO

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ca, Matthew Heath studied Classical Composition and Jazz Studies at Saddleback College before receiving his bachelor degree from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City.

Matthew has performed and/or recorded with a wide range of artists including Nicholas Payton, Dave Liebman, Tony Malaby, Matt Wilson, Jon Gordon, Joey Sellers and Reggie Workman. Matthew is a recipient of the NEA Meet the Composer award and grant. Matthew continues to perform with various duo, trio and large group settings. In 2015 Matthew released a debut recording of all original material entitled Spaces | Places.

Matthew has over 10 years of experience in helping students reach their musical goals. With a background in Rock, Blues, Jazz and Classical music Matthew has been able to guide students in everything ranging from musical fundamentals to composition and songwriting.


Jonathan Gerrard- GUITAR

Jonathan is a classical guitarist based in Orange County, California. An established Southern California performer, Gerrard made his international debut last year in Hohenau, Paraguay. Since 2012, Gerrard has studied with Professor John Schneiderman at UC Irvine, receiving both a Bachelor of Music degree (2014) and a Master of Fine Arts degree (2016).

Gerrard also enjoys studying composition and has written extensively for a wide range of genres, with premieres at UC Irvine, Irvine Valley College, Chapman College, and with Camerata Miranda in Asunción, Paraguay. A recipient of many academic awards and distinctions, Gerrard was most recently awarded the prestigious Leo Freedman Foundation fellowship for 2016.

Aside from performing and composing, Gerrard is an experienced educator with a passion for a diverse array of musical styles and performance practices.

Matt Zuber - GUITAR/BASS

Matt has been teaching private lessons for the past 15+ years in Virgina and California. Most of Matt’s students over the past several years have been acquired through student referrals due to his pleasant demeanor and patient attitude.

His students have said with Matt teaching them, they have “gained confidence” and “improved technique.” Overall, Matt challenges his students by teaching them different ways of playing songs and understanding how songs are constructed and arranged.

Matt uses a variety of methods to teach his students, such as Mel Bay’s Mastering the Guitar and Progressive’s Guitar Method.


Brandon Johnson-GUITAR

Brandon grew up in Sonoma County California and began studying rock, metal, and blues guitar in middle school. Later he delved into Jazz improvisation/composition with Bennett Friedman and Classical music theory/composition with Mark Anderman at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC). While attending SRJC, Brandon won the Outstanding Musicianship Award at the California State University Hayward Jazz Festival during his second semester of playing Jazz Guitar.

Soon afterwards, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from Sonoma State University with Summa Cum Laude and the Distinguished Jazz Graduate Award. At Sonoma State, Brandon studied with professors Douglas Leibinger, Randy Vincent, Kasey Knudsen, Dave Scott, Kendrick Freeman, Cliff Hugo, and Ken Cook.

While living in the North Bay, Brandon performed in numerous jazz gigs at wineries, school events, and played in musicals at the Sixth Street Playhouse and Throckmorton Theatre.

Currently Brandon is pursuing the Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies (Guitar) at California State University Long Beach. He encourages musical versatility and looks forward to helping future students with music theory, ear-training, sight-reading, fretboard awareness, technique, and composition.

Sunnie Haeger-VOCALS

Sunnie grew up in Colorado and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado Univ. , where her main focus of study was theatre arts, including acting classes, dance, musical theatre, voice, and music theory.

She has been playing the piano and singing since she was 8. She spent years in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville and Austin "honing" her craft: singing with bands, songwriting, and doing musicals. She has also learned to play the guitar in the last few years.

Her proudest accomplishment is her 2 CDs of all original music, both released in the last few years!

She is eager to teach and share all she has learned in the past to new students! Her focus in a lesson is not just to teach someone how to sing or play, but how to perform. She wants them to learn presence- how to be comfortable on stage, in front of an audience, holding a microphone, etc.

Her vocal styles are: singer/songwriter, pop, rock, country, R&B, and musical theatre. Some of her favorite artists/influences are: Pink, Bonnie Raitt, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, and Train.
